Applications have been invited from the candidates of Tamil Nadu for admission to the following Undergraduate Degree Courses of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University for the academic year 2011-2012.
B.V.Sc. & A.H. (5 Years)



(i) Madras Veterinary College, Chennai – 600 007



(ii) Veterinary College & Research Institute, Namakkal – 637 002.




B.F.Sc. (4 Years)



1. Fisheries College & Research Institute, Thoothukudi – 628 008.




B.Tech. (Food Processing Technology) (4 years)



Institute of Food and Dairy Technology, Koduvalli, Chennai – 600 052.




B.Tech. (Poultry Production Technology) (4 years)

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION



1. Qualifying Examination and Minimum Marks Candidates who are applying for B.V.Sc. & A.H./B.F.Sc./ B.Tech. (Food Processing Technology)/ B.Tech. (Poultry Production Technology) degree courses should have passed HSC (10+2) / CBSE / other examinations recognized as equivalent there to with the marks as prescribed below:
(a) For B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.F.Sc. degree course:
(i) ACADEMIC STREAM (In the Order of Subjects studied in HSC/ equivalent course Eligible minimum marks (%) OC BC MBC/DNC SC/ST)



1. Biology (or) Zoology and Botany 60 60 55 Pass



2. Chemistry and Physics taken together 60 60 55 Pass 3.



Aggregate of (1) and (2) should not be less than 70 65 60 Pass




(ii) VOCATIONAL STREAM (In the Order of Subjects studied in HSC/ equivalent course Eligible minimum marks (%) OC BC MBC/DNC SC/ST)



1. Biology 60 60 55 Pass



2. Vocational Subjects: For B.V.Sc. & A.H. : Poultry/Dairying only For B.F.Sc. : Fisheries only (Theory, Practical I and Practical II taken together) 60 60 55 Pass



3. Aggregate of (1) and (2) should not be less than 70 65 60 Pass




Vocational stream candidates will be considered in B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. degree courses only against the seats reserved for them.
(b) For B.Tech.(Food Processing Technology) degree course:(In the Order of Subjects studied in HSC/ equivalent course Eligible minimum marks (%) OC BC MBC/DNC SC/ST)



1. Mathematics 60 60 55 Pass



2. Chemistry and Physics taken together 60 60 55 Pass



3. Aggregate of (1) and (2) should not be less than 70 65 60 Pass




(c) For B.Tech.(Poultry Production Technology) degree course:(In the Order of Subjects studied in HSC/ equivalent course Eligible minimum marks (%) OC BC MBC/DNC SC/ST)



1. Mathematics 60 60 55 Pass



2. Biology 60 60 55 Pass



3. Chemistry and Physics taken together 60 60 55 Pass



4. Aggregate of (1),(2)and (3) should not be less than 70 65 60 Pass



The maximum number of attempts made in passing the qualifying examination is limited to three for SC/ST candidates and two for others.The improvement marks in HSC Examination of any year will not be considered for admission.
2. Age Limit:- Candidates should not have completed the age indicated below as on 01.07.2011.Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC / ST) : No age limitOthers : 21 YearsNo relaxation of age limit is permissible on any grounds.
II. MODE OF SELECTION



Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the HSC/equivalent examination as per the Government Orders.
III. APPLICATION FORMS-Separate application form should be used for B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Tech. (Food Processing Technology) and B.Tech.(Poultry Production Technology) degree courses.
Request letter for application forms should contain the name of the candidate and the course for which the application (B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. - Food Processing Technology / B.Tech. - Poultry Production Technology) is required.
Application form can be had in person or by post from any one of the following colleges on a written request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST) towards the cost of application forms including registration, drawn in favour of The Finance Officer, TANUVAS, Chennai - 600051", payable at Chennai.

(ii) Veterinary College & Research Institute, Namakkal – 637 002.



(iii) Fisheries College & Research Institute, Thoothukudi – 628 008.
